Cut Your Fabrics
Begin by cutting your fabrics into the required shapes. Typically, the petals are made from curved or pointed segments, while the center and background pieces are squares or triangles. Accurate cutting is key for this block’s clean, polished look.
Assemble the Petals
Sew the petal segments together in pairs, ensuring the seams align perfectly. Press the seams open or to the side, as preferred.
Attach the Center
Join the petal units around the central square, carefully matching points for a symmetrical flower effect.
Add the Background
Complete the block by attaching background pieces, framing the bloom and enhancing its standout design.
Press and Trim
Once all pieces are sewn together, press the block flat and trim to ensure a uniform size. This will make piecing the blocks together in a quilt easier.
