Sewing Instructions
This block is sewn in the traditional log cabin method: start with the center square and add strips around it in a clockwise (or diamond) sequence, following the numbering from the diagram.
Step 1: Center Square
Step 2: First Round (Pieces 2β5)
-
Sew Piece 2 (Fabric B, 3 Β½β strip) to one side of the center. Press seam outward.
-
Add Piece 3 on the right side. Press.
-
Continue with Piece 4 and Piece 5, completing the first diamond frame.
Step 3: Second Round (Pieces 6β9)
-
Repeat the process, sewing longer strips (5β) in sequence around the first frame.
-
Always press seams outward after each addition.
Step 4: Continue Building (Pieces 10β21)
-
Keep adding strips in order, each round slightly longer (7β, 9β, 11β).
-
Follow the numbered sequence carefully to maintain the diamond shape.
Step 5: Outer Round (Pieces 22β25)
Step 6: Border (Piece 31 β optional)
