Fabric Requirements

• 1 Peacock panel (main motif)

Finished quilt size: 54″ x 66″

Cutting Instructions

• Peacock panel: Cut one rectangle 23″ x 35″, centering the motif.

• Gold batik:

  • (4) strips 1″ × WOF for first border

  • (4) strips 1¼” × WOF for third border

  • (7) strips 2¼” × WOF for binding

• Blue ombré leaves: (4) strips 4″ × WOF for second borders

• Floral stripe:

  • (2) strips 11½” × 71″ for sides

  • (2) strips 11½” × 59″ for top and bottom borders

Sewing Instructions

1. Add the first border: Sew 1″ gold strips to the long sides of the peacock panel and shorter ones to the top and bottom. Press seams outward.

2. Prepare the ombré borders: Cut and join the ombré strips, ensuring smooth color transitions from dark to light.

3. Attach the blue ombré borders: Sew to each side, mitering corners carefully for a clean finish.

4. Add the gold third border: Join the 1¼” gold strips, then attach to sides, top, and bottom of the quilt center.

5. Add the floral stripe border: Align stripe motifs at corners before mitering.

6. Prepare backing and batting: Join backing pieces, layer with batting and quilt top, and quilt as desired.

7. Bind: Join gold strips diagonally, press in half, and bind using your preferred method.
