Round 5 Join in top of any 4 dc group. Ch 1, make a tr3tog across next 3 sts (counts as tr cluster), ch 5, tr3tog in next 3 sts, ch 5; repeat around. Join and fasten off. (8 clusters, 8 ch-5 sps)
Round 6 Join in any ch-sp. Ch 1, 6 sc in each ch-5 sp around, ch 1 between groups. Join and fasten off.
Place a marker in any ch-1 space. (48 sc + 8 ch-1 sps)
🟥 Square Motif
Placed between the octagons, the square motif helps fill the negative space and balances the layout. It’s worked from the center outward with basic double crochets and chain spaces.

Make a ring with ch 5.
